KEGS, and other Emulators

The other day, I mentioned a throwback to early days of BASIC programming. Today, I'll talk about KEGS, which emulates one of my first computers - an Apple IIGS.

KEGS, like many emulators - gives you a shell to emulate most aspects of a certain machine (such as I/O, sound, graphics). However, these require images of the system specific ROM. Often, for legal reasons, ROMS are not distributed with the software - though you can likely Google for these on other websites.

You can look further and find repositories of old Apple IIGS software. You'll likely also be able to find some old games that you may remember from the days of the Apple IIGS's popularity.

If the Apple IIGS isn't your thing, you may want to check out the resources at Zophar.net.
