Extracting "Audio Only" from TiVo
A few years ago, I used to run a website called PVRHack.sonnik.com that had a lot of the files you'd need to download for TiVo Hacking. TiVo hacking was getting so popular; it was hard to keep up with all the changes coming daily.
Well, a lot of those early contributors found their way to DealDatabase.com, and TiVo hacks still surface quite often ... including this particular favorite of mine...
In these two threads you'll find some good information on how to patch TiVo to be able to use basic PVR functionality on the audio-only channels. Typically, DirecTV didn't want you to timeshift or record the audio only channels. As I'm a fan of Opie and Anthony, it's kind of cool being able to record their morning show for my own use when I like.
Of course, there's one caveat. This patch likely only works on the popular 6.2 flavor of software used on DirecTV models - which is okay, because I doubt stand-alone models of TiVo have this restriction.
Note that you can aslo go down the extraction route, and one of those threads has some information on a utility needed for that.
I'm not going to link or mirror any of those files; the DealDatabase.com community has a lot of talent and has a few considerations on the information/software shared within that forum. To download anything, I believe you'll need to register for a forum account. Be aware that if you do want more information from the forum, be prepared to read and research before posting a question. It's just the respectful thing to do for those that bring you the TiVo hacks.
