D-Link gets their product info on website right!
A week or two ago, I posted a complaint that I was heavily disappointed with a new Linksys Router I had tried out. After browsing this week's Best Buy ad, I wound up looking for product specs at D-Link's website.
The biggest feature I'm impressed with? The emulator feature for the product I was researching (DI-634M). Linksys and Netgear simply give you the same information that's on the box; D-Link lets you dig around the menus of an emulated configuration for the product in question. I don't know how long they've been doing it - but it's brilliant. This way, you not only know what features a product has - but the details of how it would be implemented in software.
For me, Linksys is mass-manufactured crap. I've had two bad experiences with their products. Netgear is solid, but they seem to be slow to innovate. D-Link has just always been there as a reliable third choice. From the looks of some of the new products, and the detailed product specs and info at their website - it looks like they are looking to put themselves on top of the consumer home networking biz.
