Following up on DV Film Look, DV Film Maker Software
My previous post touched upon my efforts to make digital video (DV) look like film, or 24p style footage.
This past weekend, I tried the demo of DV Film Maker. It greatly improves on the aesthetics of my footage, further establishing the desired look I was trying to achieve. It improves my procedure by applying the look in pretty much one step. The price for a licensed copy is kind of steep at $145, but cheaper than buying Adobe Premiere and related plugins to achieve the same effect.
Take note you may not see much difference on your PC's monitor; you'll need to burn it to DVD to play on your television to appreciate the output. Good source footage and a decent MPEG2 encoder (I always recommend TMPGEnc) will definately keep your final output looking good.
